A Realness Score is a 0–100 rating we assign to every job listing that estimates how likely it is to be a genuine, currently open position at a real company. It weighs signals like company verification, how recently the role was posted, the specificity of the job description, salary plausibility, and the reliability of the source. Instead of manually vetting every posting, you get an at-a-glance number so you can focus your time on listings that are worth applying to.
Anyone can post a job online, and most platforms have little incentive to verify each one. The result is a mix of real openings sitting alongside “ghost jobs” (roles that were filled, frozen, or never existed), scraped listings reposted long after they closed, lead-generation traps, and outright scams. Studies suggest a large share of active listings fall into one of these categories, which is why a smart filter matters.

When you upload a resume, True Jobs compares your skills, titles, and seniority against each job description and produces a match score alongside the Realness Score. We store only the extracted text of your resume, never the original file, and it is used solely to personalize matching within your account.
